Our Story

Pelican Orthotics and Prosthetics was founded upon the principle that every patient is entitled to receive the highest level of care. We achieve this through a combination of traditional treatment techniques and utilization of the newest technological advances. At Pelican O&P we partner with our patients to achieve optimal outcomes in restoring or enhancing their functional capabilities. We are committed to listening and understanding our patients wants and needs to help formulate a successful treatment plan.

Kenny Capritto

Orthotist and Prosthetist

In 2021, after 20 years of serving the needs of patients on the Northshore, Kenny Capritto opened Pelican Orthotics and Prosthetics. Kenny became a below-knee amputee after a water-skiing accident when he was 18 years old. After his personal experience, he chose prosthetics as a career so he could help others who have experienced, or are facing, the difficulty of limb loss.

After attending LSU, Kenny went on to The University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center where he received his degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. After finishing his education Kenny returned home to the Northshore where he began his residencies in Orthotics and Prosthetics. Since that time, Kenny has spent years building relationships with physicians, physical and occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals on the Northshore.
